Tutor Growth and Development Programme
More tutors and volunteers
The goal for the year is to have more tutors and volunteers to cover more work and give every task maximum attention, this will result in learners having opportunities to have specific sessions with tutors. Another good thing that this will bring is the fact that all our programs that cater for skills apart from education will have designated persons to them. Having at least 35 volunteers would be a great for this initiative.
Networking platform for the volunteers
For the development of the volunteers, the organisation plans on giving them plausible platforms for personal growth, leaning and creating good relationships that will see them better off in the near future. These will be through attending leadership workshops and other life changing events. Also, on the table is the pursuit of scholarship opportunities for learners, assistant tutors and university students. The belief is that if young minds get exposed to such opportunities, it will shape a possible bright future for them and the country.
Training & induction of tutors
“We host two workshops for tutors which assist in upskilling tutors. During these workshops, class experiences and various teaching methods are shared, and this helps to identify any gaps that may need attention. The workshops also ensure that we compliment the Department of Education curriculum in each grade.”
Adding onto the statement above, we plan on training the tutors on how deal with children that have been traumatized in class. We will partner with a project called the “The Butterfly Art Project” on how to help the tutors on catering for those children who have psychological challenges.
